PH Navy Chief, US Pacific Fleet Commander reaffirm stronger US-PH partnership
The Philippine Navy, headed by the Flag Officer In Command, Vice Admiral Jose Ma Ambrosio Ezpeleta PN, welcomed the Commander of the United States Pacific Fleet, Admiral Stephen Koehler as he paid a courtesy call to the Flag Officer In Command, Philippine Navy on July 10, 2025 at the Navy Headquarters.
"The value that our partnership brings is so important for both of us, and we just could not be happier with the partnership that we have," Adm. Koehler said as they discussed the mutual support that both countries have for each other and the increasing defense cooperation among countries that respect international law.
Vice Adm. Ezpeleta also conveyed gratitude to the US for the continuous partnership and shared his eagerness for more interactions and engagements, particularly in training and maritime cooperative activities. "As your ally here in this region, we are happy, and we would like this relationship of ours to continue," Vice Adm. Ezpeleta expressed.
"I have huge admiration for the Philippines and the Philippine Navy for all of the work you are doing to uphold sovereignty. The ability to operate together and to operate as equal partners in this region is hugely important," Adm. Koehler added.
