Empowering the Laguna youth for nation-building

CAVINTI, LAGUNA – The 202nd Infantry (Unifier) Brigade recently joined forces with the Laguna Peace and Order Office, Laguna Youth Development Affairs (YDA), and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Laguna for the "Empowered Youth as Catalysts and Leaders for Peace and Development" campaign on March 4, 2025, at the Laguna Cultural Center in Sta. Cruz, Laguna. This event aimed to boost youth involvement in peacebuilding and national security efforts, bringing together students, youth leaders, and government officials from across the province.
The program featured dynamic workshops, discussions, and activities to engage the youth in security initiatives. Topics included Executive Order No. 70’s Whole-of-Nation Approach, protection against recruitment by the CPP-NPA-NDF, and the importance of safeguarding the West Philippine Sea. A former recruit shared a personal story on radicalization, while participants also signed up for the National Youth Movement for the West Philippine Sea (NYMWPS), reinforcing their role in national security.
Also included were sessions on awareness on illegal drugs and voters' education.

Brigadier General RONALD JESS S ALCUDIA PA, the 202nd Brigade Commander, highlighted the vital role of youth in shaping the nation’s future. "Empowering our young leaders with knowledge and values is key to fostering responsible citizens who contribute to peace, security, and development," he said. The event marked a renewed commitment to empowering the youth and building a peaceful, secure community through collaboration with government and civic partners.
